20v block with 16v head and internals possible?
Got a question Smile
Is it possible to use a 20v block from a blacktop with 16v internals head and externals?
Reason is because i have parts left from previous 16v with worn block and a good 20v block.

1) 16V head - use 16V gasket kit.

2) If you retain 20V pistons = engine becomes an interference engine (means if the timing belt breaks, you break valves and pistons).

2a) If you retain 20V pistons - compression ratio will go up... by how much... depends on what pistons you had in the old block, and which 20V pistons are in your 20V block.

3) You will need to use the 20V oil pan, the blocks oil pan mounting flange is different between 20V and 16V, the 20V pan has a "notch" in it. For your oil cooler (if equipped) you can either drill and mount a return... OR you can buy an oil pan from a AE95 All-Trac Corolla. They have a similar oil pan, but it has an oil cooler drain welded in

You can |Sad .... OR you can ask for help!!!
