Brian Crower Stroker Kit

Has anybody got experience with or heard about this stroker kit?

I've heard about the kit......

What in particular are you after??? just stroke? Then you will probably want to use a bit less duration cams.... a certain race shop builds ""tall blocks", and uses O/S valves, and 270 duration, 10mm lift cams

I am after the "ultimate" 9000rpm NA 4age. Once my head is done with larger valves and higher lift, I think this stroker kit might be next step.

Contacted Brian Crower who confirmed the kit being capable of 9500rpm - does that sound realistic? The std 7a will do 7500 rpm safely.

9500 should be fine.........

I don't know what a standard 7A will do... that certain race shop doesn't use 7A cranks

BUT.... they don't spin them to 9500.... They spin them to about 8500-8800... and they are making about 230-240 whp (270+ @ the crank).

Why don't they spin them faster.... I never asked. By the way... They no longer spin the 77mm stroke "A" engines to 14,000. They have managed to get the same power with 4000 less rpm these days

Obtained a bit more data:

Conrod:
Formula Atlantic - 411g
Redtop - 498g
Silvertop - 510g
BC 625+ - 412g

Crank:
Redtop/Silvertop/Blacktop: 13kg
BC stroker: 11,3kg (25lbs)

This looks good for the revs

On any case make sure to get everything balanced before you assemble it, ideally including the front pulley, flywheel and clutch cover

just being accurate...

"redtop" rod is actually the heaviest at 525(+ or -) grams. The redtop rod is 1988-1991. The last of the smallports came through with "silvertop" rods.


and as Bean Bandit states... get ALL the roational bits balanced together... get all replaceable bits balanced to zero - this allows a replacement part, balanced to zero, to be used with no after effects
