A modern day hachiroku
So i was thinking. There is not one car that would be the same today as hachi was in the 80's. I mean, it makes a helluva nice recipe for all the speed junkies searching for some "cheap" rwd action, with good balance and genuine engeneering.

For today, taking all the safety neccessities into consideration, a modern day hachi would be something like this:

FR
2.0 L DOHC NA
cca. 200-240 hp
cca 1200 kg
Clutch LSD
and a wheelbase of some 2400-2500mm

the price should be kept on the level as most modern day hot-hatches.

so what do you think, is this impossible?? why is there not one car like this today?

scion (is from toyota) will be introducing a new model this year. It is difrent version of the tC which is a sports coupe.

If this version will be RWD the whole world be on his head. This is prolly the most comming to a hachi car regarding size weight and engine!

Cars:
"99 Lexus IS200
"86 AE86 Kouki Panda Levin GT-Apex (restore project)
"84 AE86 Zenki Blue Levin (project racer)
Motorcycles:
"02 Yamaha R1
"02 Honda Hornet S
"08 BMW R1200GS

Toyota don't have such car, while other manufacturers... For example Mazda MX5.

But I think the real alternative to hachi today is Subaru Impreza WRX. It's heavier, it's AWD. But it costs just some 10-15% more than Golf GTI.

FWD is the Tc. 170 ps spared. Shame...

Mazda is right now the only hope.

If the Kabura find its way to production then thats it.
