I've got one of these, mine is actually an EE80 so with the 2E engine and automatic gearbox.
I think the engine swap should be relatively easy since you could swap everything with the parts of an AE82 GT hatchback (eventually including the fenders, grille and hood). I don't race cars so i don't know much about this but i think getting it balanced is hard as was said before in this topic. If I drive my car trough a corner fast it has terrible understeer. It'll probably be fun to do this but not very wise. At least I am not considering it... BTW The early model (<1985) 1.3 engines where 2A's so 8 valve engines, i think once the 1.3 was upgraded to 12 valves the 4A 8 valve SOHC engine was not available anymore. At least that's for the Netherlands. |
