AE86 Models and types ( zenki / kouki )

Well if you find an SR5 over here, it won't cost 300$. There is one for sale and it ain't in a super great condition. Price is around 1800$. You might as well get a GT.

not in australia...the gze motors are sourced from the aw11 mr2, ae92 corolla or ae101 levin. Australia only ever recieved the crappy 4ac, drum rear version although i have heard that a very limited release of 4age AE86's did come out but i've never been able to find a genuine one

Im still confused about the term

zenki and kouki

i know there are 2 types of JDM bumpers, one the on in Initial D and the one that the body kits mimmick and there are 2 types of USDM bumpers but theyre pretty much the same thing

They are pretty much the same, except the turn-signal lights and trueno inlet are a bit higher.
I thought the Initial D trueno is zenki.

And as far as I know Zenki and Kouki US bumpers are the same. You can tell the difference by the taillights.

If I am not mistaken

Zenki means early or previous or something
Kouki means next or late or something

There is also a word for current or middle or something often used in naming models. On RX7s S4 lights are Zenki lights and S5 lights (the round ones) are Kouki lights.

But dont hold me to the exact translation..
