AE86 SR20DET - Walaki
Hi all, after all these years, I've finally decided to make a topic for my car here
I was born in 1985 the same year as my car, only 10 months younger than the hachi I had this AE86 fever since 2001 or 2002 since I played with GranTurismo 3 on a friend's PS2, and chose an old boxy toyota as a starting car coz' I liked its shape and the idea of beating those new cars with it. I had no idea back then what it was, but years later I found out it was an 86 Trueno I almost bought one back in 2005, but at the end I couldnt get the money for it. My lucky day came in 2008 Januar 28, when a good friend of mine, Attila moved back to Los Angeles to his father, and gave me his Levin. (I bought it eventually) Since then I'm on a mission to make my car better and faster, and now its time to make it more good looking But thats not the beginning, so I'll tell you about that later... (sry if I make any mistakes in english, its not my main language ) AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

When I got hold of it, the car had Cobra lowering springs, Kayaba GR2 shocks, Prothane bushings and a MAP engine...it had a rebuilt LSD, and double OEM oil coolers.
Not a bad base to start with, but nothing special AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

It was time to do a bit of bodywork, so I took the car to a guy, who can make it properly. Unfortunatley I cant to that kind of work, so I have to pay for it

2 weeks AFTER the practice my engine went to 4AG heaven, so I had to put the car down for a month as I was in my exam period in college. I bought another MAP engine, put new OEM con rod bearings in it, and into the car it went. Needless to say it started on first try
Me, with the diff in my repair suit Washing the "new" engine. Changing the bearings. I was sitting like shit in the trousers, it was so tense I was afraid of breaking someting... (I've never ever done anything like this before) Engine in, working AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

For the 2009 season I decided that the car needed a new suspension setup. So I ordered 4 brand new Tokico HTS shocks, weld on coilover kit, 8kg for the front and TRD 6kg spring for the rear. As I love drifting i bought a pair of power steering knuckles, NCRCA, Tein camber adjuster and so on and so on.
It turned out INCREDIBLY good, even though somehow I got only a pair of 6kg coilover springs to the front. CUSCO Type AL OS AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |
