Nice build and project!
Seems like 20v works well with the way you`ve set up the car and it has ended up nurturing your driving style nicely, you`re pretty good! Smile

About 2 litre engine swap heres my 2 cents worth:
Think about the costs for engine, tranny, welding, wiring, overhauling for reliability sake (Unless the goal is to end up with blown engine to use for boat docks mooring at the sea bottom) so we are talking Gaskets, bearings, thrusters, boring/honing cylinder walls, line boring cam bridges, honing cam bridges, cam bearings, valve seals, piston rings, flat grinding head and block, oil pump, timing belt, tensioner, 2x oil filters, 2x oil refills, fuel catch setup (And if I`ve messed up by missed anything in this list it just means it`s gna get more expensive) and then if you`re tuning it at the same time, rods, pistons, valves, valve springs etc etc, exterior stuff like injectors, breathing mods, turbo (?), exhaust, gaskets and all the small stuff that goes with fitting such an engine into a car that it was never designed for, in addition to the suspension to match.. All this ends up costing more than building fast N/A AE111/AE92 engine which obviously suits your style way better than a powerhouse imho Smile
Yes there are fast hachi drivers with SR20 (Nakamura to name one) but look at the extensive mods he had to go through on the car.

I've been looking at F20C conversions lately, that is the engine I would put in my 86. I dont want turbo power now, and to make a blacktop as strong as an f20c (or closely) it would cost even more than a conversion. And not as reliable, and fuel consumption would skyrocket...Smile

As for the brakes, I already have "big" brakes at the front and at the rear too. The suspension wouldnt need any changes as the f20c is alloy block and so its not heavier than a 20V. The gearbox is available for it, all it needs is a custom engine subframe. I dont want to use the FSP kit, as it lowers the subframe too much and destroys the geometry...

So basically, if you do everything to a new 2 liter engine that you would do to a AE92 engine, it would cost more money. Sound logical to me.

And also throwing a bone stock AE111 engine into a car ends up nurtering your driving style nicely, but throwing a stock 2 liter engine into the car ends with people at the boat docks using it for an anchor. Right

The only thing I'm missing is an argument about the cars 'soul'.

Walaki, how come that Yaris was catching up to you pretty quickly? You need a bigger engine man. Fist vid shows some nice driving, will watch the entire vid once home. Don't bother posting here if you're not adding pics of the passenger Smile

Oh and bad news: F20C + tranny = 200-210kg depending on the emission stuff etc you add. I haven't found an accurate weight for a 4AGE, but I expect that the F20C adds 40-50kg toward the nose of the car. Its not as bad as it sounds, the gearbox is a big chunk of the increase and its MILES ahead of the T50.

Nah, I would throw in a -preferably- low mileage f20c and off it goes Smile But after this track day I'm pretty pleased with my car as it is Big Grin Big Grin

The Yaris had new slick tires on it, and I have used Kléber/Marangoni crappy-shitty ass fucked rubber on my AE86 and the Yaris literally destroyed me in the corners... Banging head (and it had some engine and heavy brakes/suspension tuning too)

I wanted to buy some new Advan Neova AD08s, but its impossible to obtain in Hungary nowadays, so as things looking now I'll have 4 new 205/50 Federal RSRs...

The gearbox is not as far in front of the car, so that isnt THAT bad imho...I dont want any kind of emission related stuff Smile
