CircuitFreak man
I offer you vacations in Greece for the summer to thank you for your job. I think that rapidshare.com is the best way to share. You can upload it in parts and give us the links Toyota Corolla KE30 + Toyota Corolla AE86 |

Quote:By the way, I don't know if the AEU86 mods would want to host this on the front page because i'm not entirely convinced that hosting this document is "legal" per se... I never said that. Hosting in the front page would be definetly a no ( in my comon sense). But, host it in the server and put the links in this thread, i dont think it would cause a problem. If you look at it that way, there are lots of ilegall stuff goin on in the all web. Like use someone's photos without permition, quoted documents without source mention... and there are lots of manuals that someone scaned that we download . Other thing that is relevant is that CF is not SELLING any of scaned docs. Well, its all up to the mods. It was just my opinion. The web its full of free hosting services. By the way, my internet SP gave me 100mb for a homepage that i´m not using, if you want i can give you a password so you can host them there. Cump´s Filipe Oliveira |

Lipinhu,
Offcourse we all bend the law from time to time especially when it seem unfair. Copyright is there to protect the authors of documents or producers of items. The fact that someone is not selling but freely distributing something doesn't make a difference for the law, you are still taking away the source of income from the person thats put a lot of hard work into making this product (the only exception being music because the person thats done all the hard work hardly sees a penny anyways). In theory, if you upload a copied document to the webspace made available to you, and people start downloading the document, your hosting provider can be summoned to provide your details to law enforcement and you can be fined for making the copyrighted document available. In most cases this only happens if the document is very popular and gets downloaded a lot (mostly with music since music companies have to much money that they use to track you down). Laws are being passed in many countries (including Holland) that force hosting companies to make your details available to lawenforcement. When we look at our situation we have a definate problem with hosting copyrighted material on our site, especially if it is directly related to the AE86. As our community grows so increases the attention we get and the risk we take to find a summation on our doorstep and that would be disasterous for our community. Combine this with the fact that we do agree with copyright laws especially when they protect the correct people (and not big record companies ) we have clearly put into the forum rules that posting copyrighted material is not allowed on this board. There is one situation where we've kept our eyes shut, and that is that we do host the factory service manual, the reason we keep our eyes shut in this case is simple, the FSM isn't printed and sold anymore, there simply isn't another way to obtain a copy. With the TRD bible, anyone can buy it from the publisher (heck its making me wonder if we should look into selling it through our shop ). Making it available on our site seems a strange move because not only would we brake copyright, we'd steal away their entire Europian market and with such a small market to sell to.... So no, we can't host the TRD bible on our forum and definately not on the front page. We can't however, stop you from adding a link on our site to another site that makes this document available.
