Ooh...resurection! And it seems that this time round it wil be even better..keep use posted!
I am very interested in the transporter gearbox idea..How hard was it to make that mate to the 4AG? Just a bellhousing adapter plate or did you have to make/respline the entire outputshaft? How much torque can the transporter gearbox handle? A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I just remove the stickers and washed it!
This pics how I did it, it wasn´t hard job to do. You need at least a Milling machine and metal lathe. I use a Diesel-Transporters clutchcase and clutchaxle, 4A-GE´s original flywheel and clutchcover and VW 200mm clutch. No adapter plate, just 4A-GE´s own plate: A hole to the starter: See the bolts: Ready: I used different gears (old VW beetle,4-speed Transporter, 5-speed Transporter), but I made some mistakes, 4th gear (Transporter´s 5th gear) didn´t handle 193Nm torque Some day (maybe) I will make it to work Knudsen Wrote:Looks so much better without those stickers.Yes, It does |

Wow! Isn't the simca 1000 one of those square shoebox models? :9
But that's one beautiful engine: can't wait to see some movie and hear those carbs sucking air. From what car did you get it initially? 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

banpei Wrote:Wow! Isn't the simca 1000 one of those square shoebox models? :9 Yes, Simca 1000 is just that. Engine is taken out of -90 AE92, it is a "red top". One finnish guy modified cylinderhead and put in some CatCams -camshafts. There i now a stock crankshaft, stock conrods and Wiseco pistons, WEBER 45 DCOE -carbs. But soon there will be something else...but carbs stays... I didn´t have any own car, so I put that engine in my brothers Simca |
