Hi from Slovenia
Hi, I'm Andrej from Slovenia. My Hachiroku is the only one in my country.
I intend to rapaint it soon, but now I'm very dissapointed becaue sometimes the engine dies and doesn't want to start (yesterday it happened in the crossroad, at rush hour ) and I don't know what to do. If someone wants to help me here is the problem described: http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=82710 Pictures could be seen here: http://www.mobisux.com/album/showphoto.p...thecat=500 http://www.mobisux.com/album/showphoto.p...thecat=500 Engine http://www.mobisux.com/album/showphoto.p...thecat=500 Rust http://www.mobisux.com/album/showphoto.p...thecat=500 Cockpit http://www.mobisux.com/album/showphoto.p...thecat=500 The car was imported from Switzerland, it has changed many owners up to know. The body is in bad shape, the car has 252k km, but I still like it. I have also a citroen ax (now my wife's car) and a Honda EK4 (family car)... Andrej |

Hi from Slovenia
Hey Dreja,
Welcome to our forum! Thats a nice car you got there, same color as mine Whats the thing on the hood for btw? I would definately do something about that rust though, that will eat your car away if you let it. As for your starting problem, I haven't got a clue I'm a pretty new owner myself so I still need to get into knowing this cars engine. Hopefully someone else on the forum knows more about it and can help you. Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Hi from Slovenia
Hi Andre, nice find on the 800$ hatch.
Since your problem is clearly fuel related thats the first place I would check: -Sometimes a near dead fuel pump can cause similar symptoms, particularly if the car has ever ran out of fuel and the pump ran dry. -Check your fuellines: Sometimes when a shield is taken away, or the battery moved to the back (or something like that) the lines get to close to a heat source. This causes vapour lock and stalls the car after it gets really hot (stop and go traffic, trafficlights etc) -Check the fuel pump relay: This is the most likely culprit. 9/10 cars that experience the problems you are describing are suffering from a bad fuel relay. Find a similar relay (same rating etc) from a newer car in the junk yard and replace.. -Dirty Fuel filter: Should be in good condition if normal maintanance has been applied. If in doubt replace immediately, might find some ponies hidden ín there as well. -Check the ECU for fault codes. I doubt that it would be a ecu problem, these things are usually foolproof. Edit: That rust problem you are having seems much more serious. You really should go and check out the complete underside of the rear. You'l be suprised how pourly designed that part of the car is and just how much mud and dirt can collect down there (I'm talking buckets full of the stuff). A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Hi from Slovenia
Welcome to the forum! ( It's getting crowded here! )
Hmmm, importing a hatchback from switzerland isn't such a bad idea! At least the Danish people won't complain! 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Hi from Slovenia
I was just wondering: from what part of Slovenia are you from? Near the sea or the Hungarian border?

Hi from Slovenia
Ehmm...he lives near the border with austria I think. Slovenia doesnt have a hungarian border, that would be serbia. I think they only have a very small bit of coastline, croatia has most of the adriatic coast.

dreja Wrote:Hi, I live near the Italian border (100 m away ).Ah, forgot about the italian border... My girlfriend is Hungarian and her parents live near the Austrian border. This summer I drove to Hungary and somehow all of a sudden I remembered that Slovenia wasn't that far either. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |
