Thats not a case of pioneering, jasper did it on his 20v, he will be doing it on mine, i have an auto ecu ready. people all over the world are doing it like this.
i have done it on nissan computers too. it is just the neutral switch that needs to be fooled.

Also welded the reinforcements on the arms, complete with weight saving holes in it. :




Again, the quality of the parts on this car from '83 is amazing, look at the gearbox subframe in this picture:

Ok, the rear axle is next.

I already made some hole covers for the diff entry and 2 outer sides.
Next was to fill the oil plug holes, so I made these:






The overall condition is ok but there was one spot that was really bad.
This one:





It was so bad a simple reinforcement wouldn't do, and it's not how I do things.
So it had to go:






Rust has eaten away lots of metal:




But before I removed it I needed something that told me the same position of the original, so I made a bracket:






It wasn't rotten at all!!





I have selected all the bolt ad brackets for refurbishing, they get a new nice new shine yellow coat.




I also noticed I sandblasted parts for more than one car.

Today I had a look at the tank, but that turned out to be a bummer.
Removing the 3 parts that are on it, (filler neck, floater and pump) 90% of the bolts broke off.

And the inside is totaly rusted:












So if anyone has a spare tank somewhere.....

holy shit! ik heb nog wel een te71 tank voor je,die mag je zo hebben,alleen die is niet voor een injectie blokkie,maar wie weet kun je er wat mee?
