I cleaned the fenders to the metal, and the outside of the doors too, then painted and put on the car for fitting:
Not too bad, needs some smal tweaking to fit perfectly. |

Then the rear bumper, I had fitted it with the welding of the rear arches but somehow it did not fit anymore.
My guess is the welder at the time (Bert) did not weld it on as we have fitted it. Unfortunatly it is not the only fuck up Bert made I am finding out slowly..... Anyway, it took me a while but now it fits to my taste: This is how much the Ford fenders are wider, I heated up the bumper after this and forced it in to shape, they fit better now: |

Then at last something that went almost without a hitch, the front bumper, I was in doubt a long time if I was going for the kouki or zenki one:
Off course something going as smoothly as that could not go unpunished, the boot. The previous welder Bert fooked this one but good, nothing fitted. :S It sat too low, it was crooked and too narrow, man I was pissed! Luckily with some bashing we got it in shape again, but it still sits too low, Bert welded this arc in way too low, apparently he never bothered to fit the bootlid on while he was welding: Anyway, it now looks like this: And this is the status uptil now, the guy who was going to prepair the car for painting still has no time, and won't have any uptil three weeks, so I'm not to happy about this either..... ohh wel.... |

Ok, the 20v Blacktop with waterline kit is for sale, because now I have this:
I moved the car back to my hobby barn to put in the engine. But there were still the bootlid problems that the first guy who welded on the car caused. So Dirk the panelbeater came by to look at this and managed to fix it!! He also fixed the few remaining isseus with the body, some big dents and a few crooked parts, so I'm very chuffed with that. No pics of this though. |
