Best look for those other seat rails then.. they are for sale on yahoo auctions in japan for sure, might be an interesting option since shipping tfrom japan is not that expensive. Smaller steeringwheels do help, but it all depends on what you want to do with your car (I like the stock hoolahoop myself).

At the moment it has a MOMO race wheel on it, that the leather is starting to come away, so will need replaced in due time. Just a thought to create more space. Will look into those slim rails. I'm sure I'll be able to get something better here in NZ (hopefully)

Time for an update.

Finally have all the fuel system sorted, minus the pressure gauge.
All set, ready to get wiring finished, this week hopefully.

Looking SWEEET Smile The engine I am still very interested in your headers could you please measure them.

You have one downside on the engine btw. because of the super duration and low lift you will probably make around 170 bhp at 9000 rpm. Making this a screamer engine with little power...

All those seatrails in japan are RHD, it's very hard to find a set for LHD/Japanese passenger side. And second problem is the most of them are to high and not suitable for low mounting of bucketseats with european length people Tongue

I have the same problems with my Sparco Corsa, i have now a set of universal sidemounts which should be grindend/welded etc. to lower it the last 4 cm to put the back of the seat to the floor.
A deepdish steeringwheel helps a lot, but i'm still sitting to high at the moment. (can't put a helmet on)

Since my car is away getting the wiring finished, we rolled Dad’s Toyota New Zealand prepared group A AE86 out.
Gave it a clean and start the rebuild.

Check out the crazy weight reduction they have done, on the lightest parts aswell, foot rest, pedals etc.

We are after the original sign writing that was on these Toyota NZ cars, so if anyone has any pics from the Wellington Street race from that era, I’d love to see them.

Cheers
