Brakepads!
At the moment I'm working on the brakes on of the AE86 I'm planning to use for the Nurburgring/trackdays etc. I've already bought new discs, stainless steel brakelines (7 lines!), and a revision-kit containing all rubbers for the calipers. Haven't bought brakepads yet....
What are your experiences with aftermarket brakepads? Which brands are available for the AE86? I wanted a set of Mintex 1144, but it's impossible to buy them here in Holland...When I order them from England a set will cost me over € 250,-! What are the other options? Why motorsports? Because other sports require only one ball! |

There are plenty good AE86 brakepads in the US. I know most of them so just specify what you want and I'll take a look (no affiliation etc). Pads range from street, to performance to ultra high (brakedisc destroying) perfromance.
Take a look at adrenalineracing, if i remember correctly Eddy carries some AE86 stuff. Group buy could also be an option I think. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I use Minex racing pads and oil and they are great.
Price in Croatia is 64€ for front pair (1144 compound). Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Brakepads!
I drive my Ae86 in rallies for several years now , and try some pads.
My best selection( personnal) front are Blue Pagid(rs 4-2)I use a Celica gt four front pad model(ref Pagid F2576-042). Using a saw I give them the shape of ae86 caliper. It takes about an hour to do it For rear brakes , I use Ferodo Ds2500, from Opel Corsa A front brakes. Same operation of sawing the pads to fit caliper. It may seems a little barbarian to do such things , but it works very well , as I 'm doing it for years now! Filh Filh Save the RWD cars |

Filh: You mind taking some photos of your pads? Maybe even the saw work next time you change?
Would be nice! |

I can do pics if you want, but the pads just looks like stock pads when finished ! Using Celica GT Four does not involve too much work .
I forgot to say that Pagids are very long lasting.About 6 rallies that mean 700km of really tough driving! I just like to add slotted rotors (not drilled!!!) but , with shipping it's a bit expensive (from US of course) Filh Filh Save the RWD cars |
