CARBURATORS
For weber 45's I think you'd need some big cams...40s would be better I think..a lot more mid and low-end torque.

IMHO 40s are best suited for non-race car.

CARBURATORS
A lot of Rally guys here use 45s on their 86's with no trouble, but these cars are driven hard the whole time, i would guess it would be an uncomfortable drive to use these daily on a road car as they would splutter and miss at slow speed and in traffic,
i have twin 40's on mine and they are ok, it is more torquey now but i think i have sacraficed some speed low down though i think it could be faster now when it gets going, hope this makes some sense to you Carbs look cool but you cant beat Injection for reliability and ease My babies - http://www.aeu86.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1432 |

fuel pump is a "Facet, Red Top"

CARBURATORS
I have twin Mikuni Solex's on mine with 288 cams. Car pulls cleanly even at low RPM - past 4k it just takes off and goes mental. Sounds amazing too!
The secret to Carbs is just finding someone who can set them up properly in todays EFI managed cars. Cheers James http://www.eight-six.co.uk - read the blog! UK AE86 Forum - http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/index.php?m...ghtsixcouk |

CARBURATORS
This is my 4AGE running twin 40's and powered by a Ford Sierra distributer (must be from a 1300 or 1600cc pinto engine sierra) and Ignition pack
