Cheapo Corolla build
Here is my 1987 Corolla SR5 coupe purchased last October. Ran great for 2 weeks until it started overheating. Thus leading to a BHG .Ironically I previously owned a 86 with the SAME EXACT specs in close to everything and it too only ran for 2 weeks. The 4AC really hates me
Here is my very light list of to do/goals: -Repaint interior and exterior -Stripped interior w/ sound deadining removal -New pads/shoes -Get the S* box at least running with crap 4AC (Temp) (Next year or possibly the coming months ) -OEM 16v bigport 4AGE Swap (Rebuilt) -Koyo radiator w Samco hoses -Homemade coilovers (AGX,GC,T3 plate) -SSR longchamps on Falken Azenis rubber (AutoX set up) -Konig Rewind on whatever rubber (Drift set up) -Whiteline rear sway bar -T3 4 links -T3 panhard bar -TRD bushings -GTS LSD Rear end -Cusco roll cage -1 Bride seat -Takata Harness -NRG harness bar Goal is reliable and safe and mild. Its going to be mainly a practice tortoise in a local drift track. But anyways here are some pics: Here is the turd facing my dads GTS. I bought fake J blood skirts for $30. I am not too fond of em. Here is the turd in my backyard after I removed the heavy arse front bar and the ugly side skirts. Also I put on some temporary Enkie rims because I was bored as hell. I decided to do the $50 paint job because I had dents and crap all over the car. Plus I was sick of silver 86's. I traded a pair of rewinds for a zenki front bar. I mocked it up with some zip ties. Not bad. Not done... I did a little exterior stripping, fixing some dents and I began prepping the car for paint. I did interior stripping for sound deadining removal. I am will eventually do this some time this week. A little more prepping/stripping... I apologize for the mess. Everything may look "just scattered" but I assure you I know where everything is. Ok tommorow finish body prep and possibly first/second coat. Spending $2000 to make a really slow car just slow. |

My mom hates the backyard. Last week Also I picked up a set of solex barrel type locks for me! Also you may ask why I am repainting in what seems like a already nice looking OEM paint job but up close here is some shotc of the paint: Not too good looking int the 1/4 panels. Apparently the last owner didnt know how to lock snow chains and this was the result. asshat! Also am repainting yellow because I love older toyotas (Actually any old japanese cars) painted in a yellow, orange, green etc. Also I am a flip Spending $2000 to make a really slow car just slow. |

Jonny, you mean these?
They were optional for the later US models. I've seen them for sale in Holland as well, but then they were optional for the early T160 Celica... They look cooler after they have been painted black matte btw. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Ok I decided to test out the first 2 coats then wetsand on my fenders.
I know I did it wrong. Its way to thick. So I am not too happy right now. Probably something wrong with my ratio. I'll wetsand with 600 then do thinner coats tommorow. If the result is good i'll do it to the body. If not I'll do it again. (The hood is just for fun too) Here is what I have to do to my fenders now: Prep 2 coats (thick) (Also wrong) Wetsand 600 2 (THIN) coats Wetsand 800 2 (THIN) coats Wetsand 1000 2 (THIN) coats Wetsand 1500 2 (THIN) coats Wetsand 2000 Polish/wax in a few weeks until paint will fully cure. Hopefully it will look good. Spending $2000 to make a really slow car just slow. |
