Disconnecting the MAP?
I am pretty sure I know this but I have forgotten. I forget alot these days!

Can anyone tell me what the effect of disconnecting the MAP sesnor would be on the engines running? We are talking a stock engine here.

Overfuel, limp mode, or would the engine still run fine relying on the TPS.

both spak and fuel maps are primarly based on the map sensor.
So you car won't run very well ...
The TPS is only used when your accelerator position is changing

Yes... what ^^^^ he said. If you disconnect the hose, the MAP sensor
is reading atmospheric pressure which = WOT. Therefore the engine
will be running rich/very rich at anything less than WOT.

what if you have a 20v silver top. I heard you can plug in the black top ecu and just go. is this correct?

No. You would have to do a AFM to MAP conversion. From what I read
it causes more problems than it provides benefits. Because of the bigger
throttles, the BT seems to run a different fuel map to the ST, and this
causes all sorts of running rich headaches !!!

Why did you disconnect it? Its the main sensor for the ecu in non-AFM cars.

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear
