Just an update:
I've started to install the server a second time. The first time failed when I tried to load FreeBSD on it. After that I didn't have the time to retry due to the fact I bought my hachi...  This week I tried it again and found various sources which told me to install Gentoo instead. So, I'm currently installing Gentoo and see if everything will work out fine.
