Drift Match Croatia Round 3 - Karlovac report

Dear all,

5th victory in a row for me. I am very happy with my results and the car.

Track layout in Karlovac was strange to me and was not suited to my car. Narrow track with lots of slow bends

meant I needed to use 1st gear all the time and use 2nd only for a transition and then downshift in 1st while

braking. I struggled in the training searching the ideal speed/line/angle. In last training I managed to find what I

was looking for, but there was just not enough time to train it to perfection.
So I was bit nervous, not sure if I could do everything perfect. I drove very reserved, not wanting to spin. Day was

extremely hot (38°C) and cars were overheating due to the low speed drifts, so I decreased boost level to 0.7 bar

since in 1st gear not much power is needed and car heats much less.

I won in competition over 12 cars. Generally, lot's of drivers improved their drifting and much better driving could

be seen. Too bad that only around 1000 people visited the event in Karlovac.
