Emanage - software / data cable

Wonder if anyone can help.

Been offered an Emanage Blue, which I was intending to use to run my ITB's. Thing is it dosnt have the software or data cable.

The guy selling has advised he has the software downloaded - does anyone know if there is any protection on the Emanage software which might make this download unusable?

Also is the data cable specific to the Emanage or can I got to my local computer supplies store and get one?

Any help is great.

Hello Pal, you can download the software, there is a yahoo group or forum where you can check all the info

The Data cable for the emanage Blue is specific for the unit you cannot use a regular data cable. This cable is often expensive so check the net for the prices

which type of engine/EFI do you have on your car?
We've been playing for more than 2months with the emanage blue on eu-dm MAP EFI and it didn't work.
It works only with AE92 smallport MAP EFI. If you have JDM AE86 MAP EFI then it might work, but I myself don't think so...

It would be used on a JDM, Map big port engine. There seems to be alot of questions around if it can be used or cant be? Everyone in the know also seems to be very tight lipped and reluctant to offer any real useful advice!

I know of 2 people with AW11's who have run Emanage Blue without issue, on 4ages with various states of tune (ITB etc) one also managing to make 200bhp with other supporting work so it seems its possible?

It might just be a case of suck it and see!?

i did had one blue set and some "pirate" cable but never got it work and i did get original cable from "trust seller" in ebay. and work great.

there was lot of cable quides on internet but nothing did work.

Does Emanage blue work or not? Seemsd there are really mixed reviews, people making power and people claiming it simply didnt do anything?!

Wish there was some proper information avauilable - almost seems no one wants to actually talk about it.

I have the JDM Special Edition AE86 Book which i brought recently, there are plenty JDM Ae86 featured cars rannning the E manage blue with the 16v blue top, Quads (ITB), cams etc etc.

So i assumed it should work as the Japs are using them. But also have been hearing mix response as many ppl... mentioned above also... cannot controlled the injector perfectly. Bummer

Just incase anyone searches for info on this at a later date -

The Emanage Blue cable is specific to the unit and you cant use a basic USB / or Serial to USB cable. The USB looking end isnt actually a USB plug.

The issue is very few laptops come with a serial port these days - so you need to get an adaptor plug for you laptop which the serial end of the cable plugs into and then then leaves you with a USB plug which will work on your modern lap top. You may need to play with the com settings to ensure the laptop / Emanage communicate properly!

Serial USB convertors are available cheap on Ebay.

Seems alot of people have got caught out with this in the past - trying to use generic USB's etc and having issues with it not connecting etc.
