European N2 Race?
Ive been talking to a number of UK/Irish ae86 owners about the possibility of an ae86 race or time attack (to avoid a crash), this wouldnt happen over night, looking at next year or even further afield.
At the moment it looks like any sort of a pilot event this would be taking place in Wales Undecided , not exactly accessible for most europeans.
Is there many ae86 racecars out there on the mainland & scandanavia?
If a future event was to be planned for mainland europe.

Hehe, see this thread I started a while ago (especially the last paragraph);

http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/ae86-n2-r...usa/t/5200

So yes - I'd be very interested in driving around a track along with other AE86 race cars, whether it's just for time attack or an actual race. For an actual racing event with participants from different countries, there may be some bureaucracy involved to get permits from FIA etc, so a practice/time attack event would probably be more feasible for now. Later on, evolving the idea further into an annual European N2 race event in the style of Hot Version special run would, of course, be way cool. Smile

Pulling my car on a trailer all the way from Finland to Wales might be a bit too extreme but for example Denmark, Northern Germany, Netherlands - those certainly wouldn't be impossible as I could take a ferry directly from Helsinki to Rostock.

Just guaging interest at the moment, I have about 7 really interested parties for the UK/Ireland. Trying to get some sort of event off the ground at first with an aim to a longterm annual event.
Where are the racecars at?
As I said Ireland/Uk 7 (at the minute, this could grow if word spreads
Scandanavia?
northern Europe?
southern Europe?
eastern Europe?

i guess netherland is the best location with nice race tracks and in the middle, or we can move to Sosnova Czech. rep.

In form it would be better to make unoficial practice and time laping, something as the RX7cz klub is regularly doing on sosnova, no byrocracy just pure driving among friends.

It all depends on the numbers & their locations,
Not much point in going to Czech if 80% of Competitors interested are from Western Europe, as I said it will all be down to interest.

dutch tracks aren't to great. Though I think Zandvoort is a very nice track for the AE86.

Anyway if my racer is doable I will be very interested in a time attack. Even if it would be in england Smile

So I wouldn't mind where it is. Only option in holland is

Circuitpark Zandvoort

the rest of the tracks suck ass big time!

There might be some guys interested for this from Switzerland.
Would depend on regulations though.

I would also be interested in this although my car really does not have the power for this.

There would be very little in the form of Regs as most 86 owners dont have any International licenses, Cage, Seat/Harness, Helmet etc.
