Exhaust for the daily driver
I have looked up a few old threads on this topic but was wondering if there might be something newer out there with the boom in 86 parts over the last couple years.
I was lucky enough to be given a TRD header and a T3 test pipe for my new 4age and now I am looking for a cat back that wont make my 86 sound like my old Civic. I would like something with a lower sound tha isnt too loud. What cat back do you use to give your car good sound without waking the neighbors? Thanks, Dinkers |

Exhaust for the daily driver
Hi Dinkers! I'm trying to figure out which extaust to fit in my AE86 as well!
What about a Fujitsubo Legalis R? I've reading lately about it, and everybody loves it! It's quiet enough for street while keeping a nice sound. I think it's a 50 mm pipe and it's a over axle exhaust, btw. I don't know if you're looking for something a little more hardcore, but it's nearly the perfect exhaust for street IMHO. The only problem is that it's a little pricey and that I've only found them for sale in Japan, so shipment + customs for us europeans would be high but I think they were sold in the US, at least according to this thread on Club4AG, so maybe you're lucky enough to find one near you: http://club4ag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3387&p=19561 ^ you have a little selection of catback exhausts sold in the US in there, too! So maybe it can be helpful to you. Oh, and here's a clip I found... sound beautiful and nothing excessive to me! http://youtu.be/7ZozXqo7stg |

Exhaust for the daily driver
I've had a couple of the Legalis R's, and I'm currently running the Brave.
The Brave is a bit more exhaust then you need in a stock 4AGE, it is 60mm in diameter. It is about 1/2 the price of the Fujitsubo There are 3 kinds of LegalisR exhausts for the AE86 (or there was....) 2 of the 3 are long muffler types, and are as quiet (decibel ratings) as the stock exhaust, the 3rd version use a shorter muffler and is a bit too loud. the difference between the 2 long muffler types was one has a single outlet, the other has dual outlets the three versions... far right is short muffler type prices are about 80,000 yen http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/...7/00000218 http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/...9/00000218 http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/...1/00000218 Dan - You can | .... I have looked around for a brave because I have heard a lot of positive things about it and the price is good but it doesnt look like I can find one here in the states.
Mostly what I see here is budy club spec II but I hear those are the loudest you can get if you have a cat delete. Megans drift spec exhaust, apexi N1 and bomber. And HKS sport and hi-power. I hear the HKS sports are pretty good. But those are around 600 and im trying to stay around 500 max. |

My friend in DK runs a BT in his AE86. He is happy with the Martelius Street I know. I have the R1...loud (!) but that's how it is when you want big power.

Search for Brave on hachiroku.net I posted a link once where you can order it online. Not sure if it's going to be under 500 after shipping though. I would have done a group buy but you're on the other side of the planet, so that won't help.

I really like the sound of both the Brave and the Martelius and they are priced just right but the shipping kills. By the time shipping is added it puts them around 600+ so I may just have to pony up the cash for the HKS Sport.
I can get Megan racing drift spec for $418 but I worry with the 4" tip it will sound like a fart can. I have seen people ride around with caps on their exhaust tips to quiet them. What are those called? |

Did you think about having one made? I don't know your skills but making an exhaust isn't rocketsience... just be sure to use mandrel bends AE86 ex-daily |

Mine has straight pipe from header onto the hks system basically fart can like you said, sounds and looks ridiculous on a stock 4age. When pushing the fun-pedal it sometimes shoots flames.
