From the USA: Dropping a 4AGE engine in a stock SR5
Background: I got this car for 500 USD. Came with a GTS transmission and a car battery as well as GTS fuel pump and GTS engine wiring harness. Car is not running and is missing a ton of stuff from the engine. However, it did come with a 4AGE engine.

What do you guys suggest as the mode of operation? What would I do just to get the car running. Also there is an MR2 in the junkyard: what can I use from that? Thanks! |

Resized your images (most of them were bigger than 1MB) and attached them since it took ages to open this topic.

Thats not a bad deal, looks like a nice bit of work though.
Note that you're missing the water pump pully and mechanical fan, and I don't see an alternator. Probably you can get at least some of these parts from the MR2 if its a 4AG powered AW11. Good excuse also to go for an electrical fan. Not sure if you could use the total radiator and fan assembly of an AW11, its probably sized differently. I also do not see an oil cooler, you may need to source those parts or go for a better aftermarket one though that would be overkill Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Ive got the Alternator/Belt system, Water Pump Pulley, and Mechanical Fan in the trunk. Getting a radiator too. Just not assembled yet (missing the bolts for the alternator)...
3/8" bolt for alternator exhaust manifold coil/ignitor coolant tank fusible link box fuel lines throttle cable (93 toyota tercel should work) Oxygen Sensor Filter for Airbox Drivers side door Panel Dashboard Top of the Backseat Right Side Brakeline to Engine hose and female plug GTS fuel filter Clutch Line Plastic Horn Cover List of parts needed so far: probably missing a few too Going to local junkyard tomorrow to pull them out of cars. Then we shall piece it together. Pics coming in tomorrow or day after. Sorry about the large image size. |

We have experienced a huge wiring crisis here. We have received very low voltage to some of our connections and am missing a bunch of wiring parts. Please tell me if you see any wiring missing from the pictures you see.
I have decided to host this on my server in a neat html page. I just thought that would be easier... Here is the link: http://76.192.130.86/ae86.html Any help is greatly appreciated!!! |

so today we decided to test if the starter is working: it is. IT is just not receiving power from that little black plug hooked to the starter (terminal 50). When we turn the ignition no power comes to the plug. Also the circuit open relay clicks loudly on ignition--unfortunately nothing else happens.
What are some possible troubleshooting steps. Could somebody please look at our wiring and comment? Thanks very much! |
