Fuel pump issue
Hi guys,
Wanted to start the car after the winter months and when I turn the key, I don't hear the fuel pump starting to build pressure. I checked how much voltage is going to the fuel pump when the key is turned and that is 2.75. Isn't that way to low? I'm I right that this might be a relay problem in stead of a fuel pump problem. Hope you guys can help me. I want to drive it so much haha. 5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |

Fuel pump issue
Sounds like an increase in resistance caused by a bad relay of corroded connections

Check the circuit-opening and EFI main relay's.. I would suggest in that order. Circuit opening relay is the one directly above the ECU.
There is supposed to be a fuel pump check connector in the engine bay on the firewall near the ecu that you can use to switch the circuit opening relay on. Its near the check engine connector. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

If it's an AFM version, check the small ground wire on the exhaust side. (it's the ground for the relay that goes thru the AFM)

Fuel pump issue
Thanks everybody.
Got a new battery, checked the timing, checked the circuit opening relay, got fuel, changed the distributer (which was a 4age fwd spec) to my other rwd spec as the rotor cap was never a good fit, got spark, cranks but still didn't start. Tried it too much that I fried the solenoid before the starter. To be continued... 5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |

Fuel pump issue
How long has the car been parked up? If it's been there for a long time then maybe the fuel is too old, petrol realistically has a shelf life of about 12 months. Although we've all heard stories of it lasting much longer than that.

Fuel pump issue
I drove it till november last year. Parked it for winter and wanted to get it in march.
The fuel tank is new. Maybe the fuel lines are dirty from all those years restoring the car and it clogged the injectors? Still, i do smell fuel under the hood. Can i just test the injectors by pulling them out and see if the spray is nice and smooth? If fuel isn't the issue and i do have spark (not knowing if its a strong one or not), can it be a bad coil as well? 5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |

Fuel pump issue
Can be, maybe a small video, or audio will help.
So it cranks. And you have a spark. Did you unscrew a gas line to see if fuel is flowing? And are the plug lines in the right order? Compression is oke? Gtsi-R "Trust me, I was an engineer" "straight lines are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers" |

Fuel pump issue
I have a link to a video at youtube in my previous message 'can't start'.
It cranks indeed. I unplugged one spark plug to see if it triggers and it does. Gas is flowing for sure as I smell it in the cylinder as well. Firing order is 1-3-4-2 . Compression need to get a tool for it, not sure 5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |
