Fuel pump problem
I noticed a problem with my fuel pump.

Sometimes, when I try to drift, od just drive normaly, the engine suddenly stop.
When I try to run it, every thing looks ok, but I don't hear fuel pump, and dont hear fuel pump relay on passenger side.
I think that fuel pump is OK, but I may have problem with relay or something.

When I wait for some 1 minute, the car runs normaly.

I looked in manual, and find that fuel pump works thru the circut opening relay.
Also, I noticed fuel pump check conector.
What is purpose od that conector?

Did some one have simillar problem?
How did he resolve problem?

Fuel pump problem
Lots of members had problems with their fuelpumps. Don't know exactly who had what problem, but I'd recon it's a combination of a few things: losing fuelpressure when drifting sounds like a different problem than regular driving. Could be the same source: bad functioning pump.
Ivan141 just replaced his pump, perhaps he can tell you more about the connectors. Smile

Fuel pump problem
I think that problem is something electric becouse as I said, when I try to start for a second or less, if everythig is OK, I hear after 2-3 sec click near co-driver legs and a sound of fuel pump from fank ( very quiet )

But, when engine suddenly stop, and I try same thing for a second or less, I don't hear fuel pump od relay near co-driver legs.

The car is reving, but won't start.

Becouse of that I think that there is problem with wires or something similar.

Thanks, Kas

I think it was Ian that had this same problem, but only while drifting.
Take a look at the circuit opening relay and make sure it's firmly connected. I have also heard of these relays going bad causing problems like this...but it's more likely just a loose connection.
If you keep having this problem after you've made sure that the relay is plugged in properly then you could try changing the relay, or perhaps temporarily apply a direct 12v source to the fuelpump (use a good size wire for that though) to see if that makes a difference.

I'll try to give a short description of the circuit opening relay operation:
There is a black&red power wire that comes from the EFI fuse... this is what the relay switches to the fuelpump. The switched power line to the fuelpump is light-blue&black according to the manual.
The relay has 2 separate control coils that it uses to switch power on.
One is only operated while the starter motor is turning...you should have 12 volts on the black&white wire while cranking.
The permanent control voltage comes from the ECU when it's started...that's the green&red wire.
The ground wire is white&black..(white with black stripe).

You should be able to check the relays operation with that info.
With that I conclude my over the top technical bla-bla.

Good luck..hope you get it fixed soon

I will check relay, I think that he is problem, or relay ground.

Is ground conected near relay under little fuse box or somewhere else?

I dont knw if there is a separate ground for the relay- One is of course on the fuel pump itself..

I dont know exactly which relay it is...but I've seen most of them on that side and they're mostly attached with a connector that goes directly to the wiring loom.

A day ago, I check fuel pump relay, he is working fine so I decided to conect two test blubs to the relay for testing wiring loom of relay.

When engine stop, I'll see which connector has faulty or something thru test blubs.
