Very cool.
With those offsets how much space is there on the inside of the guards. ie the most inboard side of the tyre. Could you have gone wider with more offset or got the wheels under anymore with more offset? Or is it maxed out?

I'm not sure if I understand your question right.
Is this about the front or the rear?
Because in the front I'm running max camber with tein camberplates with about 10mm room between fender and tire. But I could also decrease camber and roll/pull the fender some more to make it fit with less camber. You could also put a 15x9 ET-15 wheel on there with a stretched 195/50 tire. The wheel would stick out 15mm more then but since the tires is stretched more, it might just fit. Otherwise you roll/pull again. The rear is a bit more difficult since you can't compensate with camber. But here too you just roll/pull to make it fit. Putting 15x9-15 would stick out just 8mm more than the 15x8-20 I have now. Also since the rear wheels don't have to turn, you can make them sit almost against the fender.

PS. did you install your lsd by now? How is it?

Thanks that answers it! No I have'nt fitted the lsd yet, im still building the rest of the car. Engine will go in next week. Just sorting out front suspension at the moment to see how low I can get it with standard strut setup. ( but with a chop of course )

Put almost all the prothane bushing on today.
Didn't had enough time for the front arm bushings. And the rear stabilizer bushing had a larger diameter hole so I had to put the old bushings back on.
Also installed a T3 lateral rod and JammieMirror RCA's.

Then I finally aligned the car.
Camber -2,50 Toe out -0.05 Caster 3,40

The rear feels great. But I still want a better response in the front.
I want to have really sharp steering..any suggestions to what I should replace to get sharp steering feel?

How about getting rid of that toe-out in the front. That is probably whats killing your steering response at the moment.

If that doesn't help, there is always this old racers rule:
Increase front springrate untill you get the turn in you want (from springs or arb's),
then increase rear springrate until you get the mid corner balance you want.

Ow..and also: large rims with large neg offsets, the resulting scrub radius etc also tend to kill steering response..so to some extent it is inherent to the rims themselves..Sometimes you need to suffer to be pretty Smile

I don't know if the toe out is that bad. Ueo has -0.20 toe out. (yuichi (when he still had a ae86 back in 2003) had -0.30) They also run 15 or 14x8 -12 rims.

I think it is just old tie rods ends, steering rack and all the other component in the front that are getting old and sloppy.

Just wondering if people changed some particular part and really noticed a big difference in steering response.

What works for Ueo doesn't have to work for you.. Unlike Ueo, you are not running 9kg/mm front springrates are you? Etc..anyway, its one way of directly influencing turn-in behaviour in a dramatic way, its up to you if you just want to throw more parts at the car.

As far as I know two sets rear stabilizer bushes are in the kit: sr5 and gts. Or was the gts also not fitting? Dumb question

Got a spare headlight glass from Blackmane's zenki levin. Fits just fine!
Gonna look for a EE80 glass tomorrow to finish the other one.
Then straighten the bumper supports and it should be ready to roll again. Smile


PS. Banpei, about those bushings. I got an extra set of front and rear stabilizer bushings. But the rear ones are both of the same diameter. And they are both too BIG to fit tight around the bar. Do american AE86 have bigger rear stabilizer bars then?
