Hachi engine conversions, costs, and advantages
Hmm i like the idea of some space in the engine bay. Someone suggested the 1uzfe engine i nice Big v8 lol. But i think i like the idea of a 20det or the 3sgte. One of the guys on toymods has a 4agze out of a fwd corolla running a turbo instead of the charger about 300bhp

You could also just charge your existing 4age. You can't set the boost as high as on the AGZE block, but at least you will get near the 20v power output.

I do not really think i would be happy with the power from a 20 valve or similar power. Think i am looking for about 200bhp

i personally would go for the SR20DET

my last car was a 200SX S14 and it's easy and quite cheap to get about 250bhp.
and since almost everything is custom made and you'll probably buy a bigger intercooler than the stock nissan one, just ad a few more €uros to spend in bigger injectors (550cc)and horsham stage 1 chip and you'll get almost 300bhp.
that should be more than enough power Smile

Hey aussiefan that is one reason i was looking at the sr20det but i am worried about reliable it is going to be. One reason i like the 3sgte is because it is quite reliable.

Who has any info on that conversion?

you won't have any problems at 300bhp... the only thing you have to change from time to time is the exhaust header gasket... but that's an cheap and easy job to do.

your topic made me to search about this conversion since i'm planning to do the same in the future
here are some links i found today

This is my dream swap in a Hachi.

This engine won't fit the T50 Gearbox.
You need to make a plate to adapt it to the t50.
Like this one. (adapter plate for the W56)
