Since I need to Switch the headlights to EU-spec, i heard that the headlights from the Toyota MR2 AW11 fit perfectly. Can someone confirm this?Mine came out of an Mk3 Supra. You can also buy ones made for Jeep Cherokee and many US cars. The beauty of standardized parts! Exciting! |

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Yes, that's correct.
According to the plate it once had the High Sonic Toning (2X1), an automatic gearbox (A44DE), was produced in the Tahara plant (A54) and came without LSD (T282). 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: ![]() |

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Bin auch gespannt. Hat mich übrigens sehr gefreut dich am TuningMasters zu treffen. Hoffentlich kriegst du das schöne Ding bald durch den TÜV.

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Hi again!
My car arrived in Bremerhaven at the beginning of June, was taxed and processed, and last Friday I finally got a call from the shop that will make it road-legal here in Germany. "Your car is here." Yesterday, I drove there and after months of waiting (and only seeing pictures/videos of my Trueno), I finally saw it for the first time in person. I even started it up and drove it across the shop’s premises. Now I just hope everything goes well with the notorious German TÜV. A few small issues came up, but I think the shop will fix them soon: -The brake lines on the front axle have to be replaced because they are steel-braided. They will be swapped for German-made steel-braided ones, which I think are very useful. I also use them on my other oldtimer – an old English Mini Cooper. -The rear-left spring doesn’t have enough tension when the car is lifted. I’m not sure how the shop is going to handle that. -The front parking light color needs to be changed due to German regulations – it has to be white, since indicator lights in Germany must be yellow. - The hub for the momo steering wheel has to be changed. The good news: the car was serviced by the Japanese seller before shipping. That means it got fresh oil, oil filter, air filter, brake fluid, coolant, wiper blades, and spark plugs. Isn’t that nice? Unfortunately, I can’t upload any photos right now – the screen says "413 Request Entity Too Large" ![]() |

Hallo aus Deutschland!
Yes the upload size is limited to 2MB if I'm correct. I'll have a look whether I can increase that.
About the front indicator/parking light: this is a known issue. A temporary solution would be to use the aftermarket clear ones and then add amber/yellow bulbs on the indicators. For the zenki indicators it's worse. It's becoming an issue to find the original MR2 lenses as Toyota discontinued them. I have made a request for these parts at the GR Heritage collection: https://www.toyota.co.jp/cmpnform/pub/co/grheritage_en/ But I'm not sure if they will comply as it's not a Japanese market item. ![]() But there are some clear ones available for the zenki indicators. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: ![]() |
