Hello, fellow '86ers
Apparantly the syncro's are rarely the problem in T50's, it's the shift collars that wear down. Which BMW part did you use exactly?
Might be useful info for anyone trying to rebuild their gearbox. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

I failed, or most likely BMW failed here. I ordered the lock ring with part number 23 12 1 630 170. According to the catalog, it is supposed to be an A30X2.5 ring. While the inner diameter is correct, the ring is only 2.0 mm thick instead of the 2.5 mm the description claims. I'm currently in touch with the dealer, but I don't have high hopes for a proper replacement. |
