Hi everyone, I found this place a couple of hours ago, and it seems to be a place where I can learn allot about 86´s.
So, Im from Portugal, and im looking for my first car, ideally, an 86 I want to drive one before I try to get one, but from what Ive heard, they are FUN cars to drive, they look good ( especially the hatchback). They are pretty expensive in Portugal, so im looking for one in europe ( A cheap one, as we have to pay allot to register a car here, in my case, if I want to register a corolla, id have to pay almost 3000 euros, bummer). Its probably impossible to get one for a very low price, but hey, I can try right? |

Welcome!
I don't think the AE86 will come cheap these days. There are some cheaper ones for sale in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria but then you would have to make a looooong drive home with a 25 year old car. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Speaking from experience a long drive in an AE86 is more likely to shatter your dreams than make them come true. They are definitely not made for highway cruising.
Having said that, don't let that discourage you. We commend your taste and you are very welcome to the forum. I'll repeat the advice I give most newcomers looking for an 86: There is no cheap option. It is almost always cheaper to buy a good car, than to get a bad one and have to fix it up. If finding an 86 takes too long, consider the fact that there are many fun old RWD cars around that you could have fun with in the meantime. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
