Help me with my new project, please.
Okay... I just picked up an old gt-s AE86 that had been sitting for 4 years. So basically I'm just trying to get it running at the moment. I'll let you know as I start eliminating the possibilities. But if any of you have any tips or suggestion, please let me know.

cheers.

Okay.. so I have spark. Now does anyone know how I'd check to see if fuel is getting to the cylinders?

ey, we call it the expensive fountain. If you look at the fuel rail there is a small fuelline connected to it (from the fuel filter) If you unscrew it and try to start it should squirt gas (expensive fountain)

If it doesn't than there isn't any gas comming from the tank to the engine!

[edit by Ivan:]Try this at your own risk.. make sure there is nothing that could ignite the fuel nearby![/edit]

I had a look and I see at least two lines connecting to the fuel rail. Can anyone tell me which one I should take off? pics would help too.

I always pick the cold start injector feed. If you look at the fuel rail, you'll notice there is a small line with a banjo fitting at the end between the fuelrail and the inlet manifold. Loosen the fitting on the manifold, make sure you dont lose the 2 copper gasket rings that are in there, cause you'll need to refit these later on.
When you get the line loose, get someone to blip the starter for you, this causes the fuel pump to be activated, so if it's working you'll notice fuel jetting out from the line.
NOTE: Might be wise to pull the EFI fuse out (driver side footwell), so the engine doesnt start accidentally (although that's not very likely in this case  )

Make sure that all your grounding connections are working and verified. After that make sure that your getting proper signal to starter and fuel pump.
