I'll try to get you some more plates from Swiss AE86s.

I think it's actually very interesting to compare the EPC data with the cars available with a catalytic converter in the European zone:
[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Help needed: firewall plates wanted]
There is the Europe generic (ends with W) 2 door AE86 with a catalytic converter available throughout the whole production of the AE86. Then we have the Swiss (ends with C) 3 door AE86 available with a catalytic converter from February 1985 till July 1986. Finally we have the 2 door and 3 door AE86 with the German designation (ends with G) available from May 1985 till March 1987 (end of production).

I do own a Swiss brochure that dates from March 1985, so that still fits with the Swiss availability. However Project D's car does not fit in this timeline. Maybe the Swiss AE86s switched to the German designation? Confused

So maybe Bean's plates can shed some light on this! Big Grin

I did some digging and found Bean's AE86 firewall plate.
JT1COAE86001638xx (so produced in May 1985)
AE86L-ECMQFC (hard to tell but I think it's a C)
3E6 **21 T283 T50 (**: couldn't read)
Also worth noting that the plate itself is a "1B550" (like the plate from my french AE86)

Well done Sherlock, I whent through a lot of my pictures but couldn't find a readable one.

In any case mine is original Red, with Velour interior, AFM, EGR but no CAT

If I remember correctly CAT was optional here until sometime in '86

Thanks for the plate info! I'm quite sure the code starts with a G as all kouki velour interior seems to start with a G.

That's indeed a strange combination and I can remember us pondering on Oldskull's Swiss AE86 also having AFM, EGR but no cat. So if the cat was optional until somewhere in 1986, this could explain why this non-cat was available as the "Swiss" designation.

Another question to @Bean: back in a day there were some Corolla SR for sale and most people designated them as "Swiss" as well. According to the EPC they are either Swiss or Australian (sold as the Sprinter) and both have a 4A-C. Did you ever come across these cars?
We did see the SR also for sale in other regions (Barbados and Dutch Antilles for instance) but then the car featured a 4A without the emissions spec.

Never saw a remotely SR speced one like that, we had a 5 door version though.

All genuine Swiss had disks all round and the mechanical locking diff.

Years ago an acquaintance bought a Swiss "SR" spec to swap a F20C
the black one in the back:

if you are really good you may be able to read the plate (I doubt it though)

Do any of you know, a place online, where you can get a new firewall plate made? Mine is old and ugly.
Preferably in Europe Angel

Ok, it looks like I've found a VIN plate photo from my old collection of images. A copy has been pm'd I hope its useful, but please don't share the image as it isn't from my car. I'm annoyed with myself for not finding any photos of my own VIN plate, I took so many photos that you'd think at least one would show the VIN.

Thanks! Thumbs up!
It certainly is very interesting one to see a UK spec plate.
