Hi, new member from WA State USA
Hi, my name is Nick. I'm currently living in Bellingham, WA, USA.
I love cars. My main car has been my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX, which I regularly autocross . I wanted to buy something else to put less miles on my Subaru project, but still wanted something fun. I found that my friend was selling an SR5... Well, after almost 3 months, two engines, and a bunch of headaches later, my commuter car purchase finally runs and drives! It's an SR5 and still has the 4AC. I wanted to find something fun to drive to work that was good on gas. So far, the only things done are maintenance items and items just to get it running: -Tokico HPS front shocks -KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks -Vacuum/Emissions delete I'm currently trying to find all the missing interior pieces and am refurbishing / repainting the carpet and plastics back to their original blue color with this nice paint I discovered called SEM Color Coat, Shadow Blue http://www.celicasupra.com/forums/showth...-True-Blue. I want to paint the car myself, and have a friend who went to school for autobody (He thinks we should paint it Teleso Grigio: http://www.yosax.com/car_pictures/lambor...adster.jpg) I'm not a fan of the previous owner's black spray painted hood... so in the mean time I might just try to find some cheap paint that matches the rest of the car. Anyways, just thought I'd properly introduce myself and my new project. I'll post a build thread and where I'm at so far next. |

Hi, new member from WA State USA
Welcome!
You might consider watching a couple of videos by 84hachi on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/84hachi He decided to keep the 4AC in his SR5 and tune it lightly while still retaining a bit of fuel economy. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Hi, new member from WA State USA
I actually decided to keep the 4AC.
I put a Weber 32/36 on, as the stock carb wouldn't get the car to run properly. I've reported at the highest, 34mpg freeway. (of course, that figure is a little off as my speedometer is off by 5mph) Thanks for the compliments! |
