High-beam warning lamp

Hello everybody,

I'm experiencing some issues with my headlights; on full beam the blue warning lamp is really dim, barely detectable by the human eye.

Has anyone experience of this?

The earth is good, the other warning lights (door open, fuel) are much brighter.
When it's lit, it's only getting 6volts which appears to be correct to as per the wiring diagram, ie. I series with the low beam so 6v + 6v = 12v. Should it be a different rated bulb? 6v as opposed to 12?

What was the cause then?

I had mixed up the terminals at one of the headlights, effectively putting the main and dip filaments in series and taking 6v from between them to feed the warning light
