Hooking up light buzzer
Hey Guys,

Okay I'm getting a bit fed up with this, I keep leaving my lights on and being left with a drained battery. Time to install one of those annoying buzzers that lets you know you left your light on when you turn the ignition off....

Call me stupid but since I've never installed one of these things, whats the best (and easiest) way to hook one of these up in a hachiroku?

Hmmm, I still have my door-buzzer. Dunno if you can use that one, but here you can see where it should be situated:

I couldn't find find it in the wire-diagrams, but I think you can do a slight modification and make a light-buzzer out of it. Wink

Banpei, do you mean the 100kph buzzer? Doorbuzzer is same as light buzzer, just buzzes when you have lights on and open door. Basically the thing I need.

I'm just gonne pick up a unit at halfords in a minuteSmile

Ah, then I have the right buzzer for you. It is indeed the door/light-buzzer that used to be in my car. Wink
It is of no use for me, if I leave my lights on and don't see it I must be blind. Big Grin

I put one in my moms car once, it came with instructions. You either have to wire it into the door-switch, which is a bit fiddly, or you can wire it to go off when the ignition is off and the lights are off. To do this you can usually just poke some wires in between 2 fuses in the fusebox. (ignition and lighting fuses). It's basically just a buzzer with a diode in series. When the ignition is on and the lights are off it gets 12V from the ignition and 0V from the lighting fuse...the diode blocks the current in this direction...when both fuses are powered (ignition & lights on) there is no difference in voltage and no current will flow. When the lights are on and the ignition is off current will start flowing in the right direction and voila...it will buzz. All you have to figure out is which way the wires should go.
