I know a guy who is fitting the civic Type-R engines into westfields at the moment. A company in the UK already has Ford Type 9 belhousings for them too which is a start. Will ring my westfield buddy and see what I can find out for you guys.

I dont think you need to do any work on the firewall to fit the F20 engine tbh - its all on the transmission tunnel - if you look at the original thread on club4ag you can compare the bell housing end of the gearbox to the regular toyota one.

I think RHD would be more complex to do though as on the exhaust side you would have to deal with the steering rack maybe being in the way of the exhaust.

Regards Ian.

Only thing to watch with those Honda engines, is they run the opposite way to every other engine, so really need the Honda diff, or you'll have the worlds fastest reversing car

Yep new F and K series motors spin the correct (?) way.

The K series is very popular with lotus elise people and the ariel atom is also available with the K series (optional supercharger too)

The trueno above also looks like the bellhousing did cause the firewall to get chopped - take a look at where the heater/blower pipes normally run.

Widar, they have a special anti hydro-lock valve that prevents engine damage. They came up some time ago when the "AEM iceman" intakes were popular...you could route the intake anywhere you'd want though.

@Ian. The other K-series engine: the (caugh) Rover one..when properly built should be a ery good option as well. The 2.0l VHPD engine produces more then 220 bhp. Read somewhere that the dubious reliability was down to some subpar dowel pins (head/block). It should be way lighter then even the F series engine..saving you another 60kg's...has lots more bottom end torque as well....Worth investigating instead of just dismissing it immediately..60kg's is a LOT of weight...with proper parts you could probably get the hachi down to around 800kg's

There are lots and lots of nice engines out there....Opel/GM ecotec springs to mind...have you seen what they achieve with those neon SR4 engines? Cheap parts too.
