How much power
euhm.
smallport engine doesn't do that much if its not ported and polished. the 9mm lift 268 cams will do alot if they are adjusted correctly. Twin webers is completly depended if they are tuned right. I would say around 140 hp at the wheels. I think you can make this as of that I have a similiar setup without the webers but I have a ported head. How much power
So forgetting the smallport engine and webers, what would be the likely output then ? My bigport engine has about 10.7-1 compression.
Just bigport TVIS plus cams as above and higher rev limit, maybe 8200rpm An analogue brain in a digital World |

How much power
rev limit is no use. The cams will stop producing power before 7000 rpm
the cams below 272 will not pass 7000 rpm. You got high lift cams which is good. You don't need to much duration it will only make the engine work harder. I don't know exactly but the cams on a healthy engine should get you at or near the 130 whp if you got a good exhaust as well. How much power
Hmmmm, I beg to differ on the rpm limits... here is a HKS timing sheet... note the rpm peak(about 1/4 down the page)...
264 cams should get you about 8k... final rpm will be determined by the cam timing chosen, and engine management I STRONGLY recommend investing in a quality engine management system... even running carbs. Get the ignition side correct, and you'd be surprised how much one of these little engines produce. small port head has much better port velocity. yes it does need a bit of work to optimize, but it is easier then trying to fix the TVIS head, excess port size. You didn't mention any compression boost, so basing my estimate on a stock compression smallport with the mods you want AND quality engine mangement... 128hp and 97 on the torque side... measured @ the wheels. w/o decent management - 120 hp and 93 torque Bump the compression another .5, to .7 of a point and you'll be VERY close, if not over 140 wheel hp with proper management Dan - You can | ....
