I went to Japan...
... and sort of had a plan!
The main goal of the plan was this sort of stuff: But i won't bore you guys too much with that. One a day off i planned a little route in the Nagoya area. This is where Toyota builds it's cars, and where the museums are. And also: Look at my very cool rental car, blocking the view of the AE86s ... Really nice guy, nice oldschool shop. Tried to buy some parts, but he didn't have them in stock, sadly. Did find something Ivan141 could use for his car, so bought that. In the end, after some talking via Google Translate, he asked me to come outside for a picture. So i did! Also saw this gem at the Toyota Automobile Museum, beautiful car, and the first time i've seen a rotating grille on an actual car! When i was in the Tokyo area, I went to Daikoku Futo, but didn't see an AE86 there, and the one i spotted driving on the street, i was to late with my camera, sadly. But a cool trip in the end! I very much enjoyed my time in Japan! "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

Wow! It looks like you had a marvellous time!
So in the end you didn't bring a Nooby Booth spoiler in your suitcase? About the AE86 in the museum: I find it strange to see a zenki car with the mid-facelift grill, mid-facelift sports package (lip, spoiler but no side skirts) but with the initial mirrors and 13-inch pizza cutter rims. It almost feels like this was a study model. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Cool trip, indeed!
Today I learnt: There's thicker pedal pads for short people, to improve seating position (picture nr 6). That got me thinking it might work to improve how easy it is to do heel-toe in the 86. A wider brake pedal might also help. Time to put the thinking cap on... Also, did you see a steering column extension that allows keeping the stock wheel? |
