THose mounts are quite nice and handling should still be good.
It is of course not as good as Ians solution but it is just way much more straight forward. Hi Maurice,
Yes - for now I'm using the stock 86 fuel tank with a Walboro high flow pump to get enough fuel to the f20 injectors. The tank was mint so there seemed little point in changing it. I have to figure out how to get the s2000 fuel level sender working - its easy if you have a us/canadian s2000 fuel pump cartridge - the uk ones (like I have) are different - doh! if you go onto driftworks I thnk whiteboyjohn posts as .john. you will also find him on honda-tech and club4ag (which I think has a thread for ordering his kit). A UK driver is now sponsored by Johns company and I know where there is a very well known trueno about 30miles from my house that currently has an F20 and gearbox mounted up in the shell right now. Its waiting for modifications to an exhaust manifold and a propshaft and then it will be ready to wire up. Only cutting required was to the cross member and the hole in the tunnel where the shifter pokes through. You just have to bash up the front of the tunnel to the firewall to get it in. Doesn't look any lower/higher in the car than mine is - but I think its a little way further forward. John has had no problems with his at all - if you look back on this thread there is a link to a vid of a peppermint trueno drifting really nicely in a capark. Regards Ian. |

I see, i didnt get a tank with my shell so im goin to get a cell, safety wise i would be happier anyway. When you get the sender working let me know i got one too ha ha Cheers Maurice |

Maurice Wrote:[quote="Ian.G"] In which case - if you are looking at fuel cells like ATL you will find they do a sender specific to their tanks. Are you going to use an s2000 instrument cluster ? if so - the voltage range on the ATL senders may be more compatible than the AE86 one. More pictures: Finished tunnel and front end all stripped and ready for paint in the next few days. You can also see how the front chassis rails have been chocked onto the firewall. My front turrets had previously started to pull away from the rails (my brothers forest rally car had the same problems) - this wont happen again Lots of holes that carried the heater matrix pipes/aircon pipes etc have also been plugged which saves me having to use nasty grommets and blanks really really pleased Regards Ian. |
