Japanese Romanji
Hey Guys,

Hopeing to find someone with a little more knowladge of japanese hereSmile

With this page I can translate Romanji to Japanese characters:
http://spencer.blackmarket.net/japanese_helper.asp

So I translated Trueno and I got えの which in babelfish translates to "obtaining"
I also translated Levin and I got ん which in babelfish trnaslates to "it is"

I always thought it ment lightning and thunder?Smile

Eircam,

Does it? Thats the question we are trying to answer. I always thought that was indeed so, Levin=lightning, Trueno is Thunder. But if you translate them on the web Levin = it is, Trueno = obtaining (japanese romanji). So either the translation doesn't work or we are all wrong.

Looking further I found out Trueno is Thunder in spanish, but Levin doesn't mean anything in spanish.

Translating from English to Japanese I get:
Lightning = 電光 = denkou
Thunder = 雷 = kaminari

So it seems Levin isn't lightning, and Trueno isn't completely thunder... Atleast not in Japanese.. That is, if I can believe altavista and my kanji to romanji converter, but I am not sure how trustworthy they are...

Banpei just send me this:

http://www.answers.com/topic/levin

It sais Levin is lightning in old english.

Interestingly trueno just gives alot of info about our cars:

http://www.answers.com/topic/trueno

So bottom line
Trueno is Thunder in Spanish
Levin is Lightning in old English

And for some reason some japanese figured they make nice names for cars... go figureSmile

N.B. I wouldn't be surprised if Trueno is also old English for thunder, our English friends should be able to help us out on that one.

Yeah but it only explains levin, I can't find any evidence Trueno is old english aswell...

So why name one body an old english name, and the other a spanish name?
