Jonny's Levin Racecar
Greetings from a very distant corner of Europe.
I plan to enter a few "speed" events, such as hillclimbs, supersprints and drift practice. My influences in building my car mostly come from Group A racecars raced in the 80s and into the 90s. Also current N1 class cars in japan. And tarmac rally cars. But mostly I want to fit into CAMS 3J Improved Production class, even if I only do supersprints. Following 3J IP rules and a lack of money makes for a very simple build. The car is already built. I am just finishing a ground up rebuild which included a full rollcage and a 20 valve. I have done almost everything to the car except outside paint. I plan to show you a few details. Feel free to post engine bay or interia pics of Group A cars. I am interested in little fabricated parts these cars had. |

These are my "extra lock" steering rack ends that I make. I have sold a few of these now in Australia. With these rack ends you don't need to use any spacers, and you retain the factory geometry except with added steering angle (and you get brand new rack ends also!) |

Carpet is a tough decision. I have carpet that may go in for winter. I have retained the heater since I live 42 degrees south and will get road rego. A lot of Targa Tasmania cars have full carpet and suede leather everything else, especially the newer turbo ones. Smaller cars need the weight loss a bit more I guess. My weight loss: no carpet no body tar or sound deadening no rear seats no interia except dash and door cards no radio My weight gain: roll cage extra welds along chassis Honda Civic front discs Safety: rollcage to basic CAMS design 6 point 3" harness fibreglass fixed back seat helmet, gloves little fire extinguisher To do list: battery kill switch bonnet pins CAMS tow hooks |

Your interior is pretty much how i want mine to look apart from mines the tan/brown stuff instead of blue. I think heater is a must my last race car had no heater and it was a pain, plus the heater isn't that much extra weight anyway
