KE70, worth it?

Hi all

Found some nice KE70, i assume it is KE70L-ECMDSW.
It has 1.3 engine and K50.
Nice interior, good chassis but the engine is too weak.

How is it compared to AE86 in hadling/performance if i transplant 4AGE and T50 in it ?

Are other suspension parts "bolt on" or there are some specifics ?





Looks good, owner says it is great shape, for such an old car of course
What to look for, what are standard downfalls after 30+ years?

Hi,

AS compared to AE86, engine ismuch to be deisred. AE86 has a more powerful 4AG then the weight to power ratio of AE86 is better. For drifting, AE86 performs better than KE70 (it must either be AE71 or TE71). Resale price, AE86 has higher.

AE86 chassis with a different body basically. Almost everything bolts on. If its rust free then its as good a starting point as the 86.

If its solid take it

AE86 engine crossmember + 4A-GE + T50 fits straight forward, so do rear suspension parts. Front suspension will bolt on if this car is build after´83, pre 83 requires redrilling the the top mounts and AE86 steering arms.

The AE86 is a different body on a KE70 chassis (2400mm wheelbase)!
Seatrails from AE86 bolt into KE70.

Talking about weight rations, if you fit a 4AGE its going to be the same as AE86 or even better...
