Kris´s new winterproject !
This is a BUGGY.
Chinamade featurning an aircooled 150cc 4-stroke single cylinder enging with variomatic drive with reverse gear. Topspeed of approx: 70-80 km/h weight - 240 kgs lenght - 220cm width - 130 wheelbase - 160cm Simply said: Imagine this with an Honda CBR600 / 900 engine with 100 / 140 bhp @ 13000 rpm. Watercooled & 6-speed manual clutch (steering mounted) This is my winter project - the entire engine sits on the swingarm & therefor the swingarm will be lengthened to suit the motorcycle engine. It is beeing build by me for a Swedish company that sells minicrosses & minimoto´s. The finnished work ( the THING as it´s namned by me) Will be on display at ELMIA. Next easter in Sweden. Performance - will be in the region of: 0-100 in approx 4-5 seconds topspeed in the low to mid 200´s - depending on gearing ! Kris..... Even MORE Crazy than B4 I´m sorry sir, your planet has been sceduled for destruction in favor of an intergalactic highway -Thank you Kristian Hesselmark, Sweden EVO-DRIFT-STREET-DRAG-SHOW |

I dont think that Thing handles very well at those speeds... No matter how many lexan and carbon parts you put into it... It looks a bit "topheavy" and wobbly to mee. I would prefer to drive it in snow and mud, not on road@topspeed

(TOYO´s) Only problem is that you will need to shift gears all the time... = FUN I promise all AEU86 guys that they are allowed to try it when it´s done totally - at some future meeting I´m sorry sir, your planet has been sceduled for destruction in favor of an intergalactic highway -Thank you Kristian Hesselmark, Sweden EVO-DRIFT-STREET-DRAG-SHOW |

Kris, why not throw in a large single cylinder four stroke engine? The latest breed of them (around 650cc) produce around 80hp tuned, but more importantly..massive amounts of torque (as much or more then a 4cyl racing engine). I think it would still be mad fast, lighter and due to the wider power band, much more fun to drive (less shifting).
BTW: I would keep the shifter manually operated by some kind of lever. electronic shifting is very prone to failures and difficult+expensive to repair. Our little formula student car was similar i think. 75bhp@130kg, but had vastly better suspension and monocoque. That thing was just plain mad. The drivers decided to leave the car in 4th gear for the whole race. It would still smoke the tires at any rpm, and these were custum slicks made from a ultra soft and sticky compound. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
