LSD question
Hey guy's me again Banging head lol

I have an LSD question.....I was wondering what is the difference between a 1.5 way and 2 way LSD...I was told that 2way helps for de-celerating?

What is the REAL difference, Are 2 ways worth the extra $??

I don't think thats what he wants to hear Jamie..its mostly techno babble that explains how the LSD does what it does, not what it does exactly.

I'm not commenting on this one untill I've experienced all of the different kinds of LSDs..too many people talking out of their asses on this topic. Probably only a couple of drifters that have experienced all kinds of LSDs, but then drifting is a very specific use of the car thats not really relevant to other kinds of driving.

Just came to think of something:
You can set ramp angles (the angle of the V in the LSD) in most serious simulation games. That would allow you to get a feel for 1 way, 1.5 way and 2 way LSDs, without driving a real car with all of them in it.

Nohachi, I know exactly where your coming from and I appreciate the fact that you dont want to give me the wrong info.

Ok, if you're good at writeups then maybe you can explain to me the exact difference in behaviour between 1/1.5 way lsd's and 2-way lsd's. Where will I get oversteer, where will I get understeer and why. Will braking be more stable or less so. Do I need to run schoolbook lines (all braking done in a perfectly straight line, do not turn in untill all braking is done) or do I have to rotate the car by trailbraking into each corner. I haven't read any socalled writeup that genuinly adresses these questions..Just a bunch of semi nerds quoting instruction manuals and talking out of their asses..basically the same thing as the club4AG write-up. Great if you want to build an LSD from scratch, but useless to a driver.

But more on a more serious note:
I've seen many questions pop up around the internet about the different kind of diffs. Up until now, I have never seen a real answer to them, usually something descriptive like in the club4ag article. Thats a shame, because its an interesting question that has a lot of relevance to car setup and driving theory.

Some love 1 way diffs and hate 2ways, some ensist you need a two way, there was even some guy in the seventies (Mark Donahue, who drove in most big LM and sportscar classes) that used a 100% locked diff in every car he drove (and won). So there are ways of driving around the problem of a locked diff and winning with it. If you know how to do it, then you can think about it and go out next time with a better knowledge of your cars behaviour. That would be of benefit to someone. Now if you can deduce all of this from the club4AG article, then you are a more clever man then I am and I am more the willing to sit back, read and learn something.

Good readings. Am I the only one who thinks it is flipping hillarous at the ammount of 'tech' regarding vehicle setup that can be found on message boards dedicated to racing sim games compared to what we can find for real life cars? This probably explains why I'm horrible at video games in general. Undecided
