apolan,

Had fitment problems with the front fenders causing the paint to chip and indeed, just problems with the rear bootSad

Did some cheap spraypaint job on some bits for temporary measures, will be doing full respray late 2007, early 2008 hopefully...

i guess you have to do it right with hachiroku (i.e. full strip-weld-cut-paint) or it will just come back.. well goodluck!

Yeah thats the plan this time.. I'm gonne first fix up all the bits of rust it still has, drive it for a year or so. Save up, then pull her appart totally early 2008.

Then again, things rarely go as I plan Big Grin

Well, a morning out on Zandvoort Circuit today and I must say.....

Bridgestone Potenza 720's are the best tires I've tried so far!! I had ZERO grip problems today!! Without any other changes to my suspention from last time I was out on this track the change was fenominal.

Another nice change was that they had put pilons at the side of the track for steering points and such and my mate Leon took the passenger seat giving me pointers on driving the ideal line. I did some amazing laps and feel I've really improved alot in my driving today.

Online minor point of the day was this stupid stock Toyota Starlet on slicks that kept pushing my bumper. Dumb guy must think he's takumi or something Wink No seriously, was fun meeting you again mate, amazing what you can do with that little car, next time I'll let you pass if you promise not to drive to fast and make me look badBig Grin Or next time, get that damn Hachi of your running! Owh and wish your friend luck with that BMW guy, hope he works out the damages..

720 are nice, but kinda old, technology wise. you should try the new toyo T1R. They still rubb away faster than potenzas 720, but grip-wise, they are top of the top. And much better than the former T1S.. Next time just go with r888, youll give that monster starlet a run for its money Big Grin

Apolan,

Djexor bought the T1Rs and we still have a date set to compare our tires, so I'm defo going to do a compare between the two.

For now I am amazed by the 720's performance, miles ahead of the yokohama's

great, let us know how the two compare on the ae. But how "good" are really todays hi-grip tyres. Remember ae is a 25 year old design. If you look at the type of tyres those cars were made for back than, the advance in tyre technology is so great and the grip has at least doubled. So in order to drive hard with such tyres i think bracing the car all over and using some stiffer shocks and springs is a must. Otherwise you just end up with a bouncy/wild car instead of a nice dynamic drive.
