My 86 dynoed 148 hp on wednesday 10 2013
hello,

I have just dynoed my car to see how was my rebuilt and to set the timing of my camshaft.

That might interest someone.

the set up is: i paste my thread from 4AGE results

makkuro Wrote:What cam timing will you recommend formy set up?

264° hks in and ex
martelieus header 4-2-1 and complete muffler
trd head gasket 0.8mm, shave 0.5 mm
toda adjustable cams
brand new oil pump
seals (segments et tous les joint, not sure in english)

My 86 is a zenky model

Thanks

Now i know what timing i will use.

but first i want to thank Project D who guided me all the way through ( choice of the cams, choice of the size of the gasket, choice of the muffler, how much to shave, how to break in the engine etc to get the number that i got. Thumbs up!

He convinced me to keep my engine and upgrade it as it is now instead of doing a swap where i will spend way more because you never know how is the health of the engine, real mileage, change the wires.etc. you know what i mean.

thanks dude!

here is my number: 148hp on not ultimate condition

What percentage of transmission loss do you boys get through your prop?

How is that possible, when the MR2 is rated at around 15% and the engine is pretty much over the rear wheels Huh

That does sound very conservative for an FR car. None the less.. 135 at the wheels is nothing to sneeze at.

hmmmm... this is an age old problem... there is no set figure to RELIABLY determine whp from hp.

please read(English).... http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-1005-d...index.html

As a basic rule (drivetrain loss)... longitudinal USUALLY use 15%-20%, transverse USUALLY use 10%-15%, and finally awd USUALLY 20%-30%

Isn't the Transmission loss is calculated when the dynoguys accelerate and let off (many time) before the real WOT pull?
