This is such a cool build. I wish I could easily create parts, especially plastics. My broken fuse box cover is really sad.

Any photos you can share of the current state?

Hello fellow members,

I know its been a while since i posted, today i will post, but with tragedy...

18 of july this year the corolla turned 40, but on 6 september 2024 the life of the hg-gs-57 ended

The car was stalled in a shed, but the shed burned down and the corolla is no more, because an investigation is still in progress i only have the photo from a distance.

Sadly enough, nothing is left but the burned body of the car.

a tear has been shed and the memory of the roaring 4age will always stay in my heart.

From a more practical point of view, it would be a lot of work to revive the car. It is not scrapped, paperwork and mot till next year are still intact/active.

I will not revive the car, i dont have the time. This means the parts and equipment that were not in the shed (but at home) will be sold, ive seen springs, shocks, set of eu headlights, rear window, doors, 14 inch rims and so on.

Parts that were involved in the fire which might still be interesting is a complete never disassembled late type lsd rear axle, axle shafts and a t-50 gearbox taken out from a car that was to be salvaged.

the state of the parts on the car are unknown and will be clear later (rear axle, subframe, engine, gearbox)

The registration and shell might be interesting for some too...

ads will be later

Raise a glass tonight to the HG-GS-57. May his memory live on in our hearts and stories. Cheers to a life well-lived. farewell my friend.

That's awful to read! I'm so sorry to read this Crying
To be honest: it used to be my biggest fear when I parked mine in a lockup and didn't see it for another three and a half years. In the meanwhile I received a story from a friend of mine losing his car in a shed fire. I was just imagining mine going up in smoke as well when he told me his story.
Will the insurance of the shed you parked the car in compensate?

No way, it really sucks to see that happen to anyone. Hopefully the insurance pays out, fight them for it if you have to and don't let them rip you off.
