Cool more AE86 projects! Im glad to see its not just the UK AE86's that suffer from rust! Bit unlucky there mate, the rust has popped up in a few places!
Looks mostly to be surface rust though! Good luck with the rest of the project mate! Top work so far! |

I've seen pics of Portugese hachis which have as much rust as this one. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

My little (not really...) project - Soon to be all done?!?
Finally I got the rear end of the car - as you see this needs a bit of cleaning:
During the winter I plan to rebuilt the lsd and gearbox... Everything underneath the car will be sanded down and powder coated I've looked forward to the moment when the rear end no longer is on the car! This meens that I can do this: I can turn whats left of the car 360 degrees :!: These last few days I've started taking of the undercoating which is HARD work (I don't know why my finger has to be in the pictures as well ) I haven't decided if I'll take it all of or stop where I'm at... I covered ~1/4 of the car (allmost 5 kg undercoting :!: - great way to reduce weight: I would say more than 30 kg if you take the inside of the car as well) EDIT: We (my dad) did some repairs underneath the right rear 1/4 panel: He is not quite done yet, but it is looking pretty good so far Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

My little (not really...) project - Soon to be all done?!?
I had a bit of help from my girlfriend these last few days and we managed to get through all the undercoating
Here is a few pics: More than half way One day later: All finished :!: The removed undercoating weight about 15 kg!!! As some might notice, some rust has been repaired: The metal wasn't rusted all the way through yet, but we might as well change it now As my dad finished the repairs I fixed the starter engine: One new and two old... Allmost back together... If you only hear a click when turning the key this is what you need to do I had the problem ~10 times over the last couple of years... It is as easy as it looks in the pitures, Widar... The worst part is geting the starter engine out
What you need? Look in the left part of the first picture  Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |
