Peter, because one of them have plate + blind areas, that is ideal for blasting media deposits and then good polishing compound when these deposits meet the oil from the engine....

peter møller Wrote:Tell me again....why aren´t you supposed to sandblast them? Huh
Because the grid of the sandblastic can get into bits of the covers that can't be cleaned easily (small grooves or something like that), once you put em on the car the grid comes loose and grinds away at the nice internals of your engine.

Atleast two engine's on this forum have been destroyed this way, Jan possibly is #3...

I hand sanded mine down once, havent had any problems with them. Best thing to do would be to properly seal all openings of the cam covers with something that will resist any accidental bit of sandblasting..it´s not the sandblasting itself thats the problem, it´s the blasting medium getting in the wrong places.

Nobody does the inside, but they forget to cover it up, and that sand gets everywhere.

I got a set of coilovers complete with camberplates the other day. I got them mounted on the car yesterday along with my NRCAs Smile

They are VERY aggresive - the struts have been cut 60mm! I'm going to weld 30mm back in... Its just WAY too low Cool

Before:

I had to put on my Supras with 185/55-14 just to drive it...

Sorry about the camphone pics I'll take some better pics one of these days Smile

Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Wink
