Sorry mate, I wasn't trying to talk your page down, guess a bit of my satire nature surfacing Smile It's good that you try to show your enthousiasm for AE86's this way.

For me its only that I don't understand this MySpace hype, so my remarks where more targetted at MySpace (and the many similar sites out there) in general then your site. Kicking down Robokills door about hyves just had to happen (but I am a long time friend of Robokill so he knows I'm just teasing him).

I do believe that too many community sites just means fragmentation of an allready thin community, it just means information overload and people simply don't join up on every community out there (as a responce to your query about why not everyone is signing up on your community).

But if you felt I was dissing your page then I really am sorry as I wasn't trying to make you feel bad or stupid for having a MySpace page about AE86. If this is the way you feel you express your enthousiasm best, then thats good.

Still don't like MySpace thoughSmile

@toyd1drifter: you have to understand that MySpace isn't that popular in some countries. In Holland for instance Hyves is more popular than MySpace. I'm already member of Hyves, Chatten (work), Chatplaza (work), Schoolbank, LinkedIn, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Skype and yet I have to create *another* account, set up my own personal page, accept other members. I'm one of those people who are getting tired of all those profile sites and keeping all of them up to date. Blush

But I believe I already have a MySpace account somewhere... Confused

Edit: found it. Cool

I diddent take anything personally and just because I diddent get the turn out that I had hoped for doesnt mean that I'm gonna stop promoting or that I'm gonna lose any sleep over this HAHA! its nothing like that at all! I had posted this up on 3 other US sites and one Australian site with a huge turnout!! I just had hoped to see similar turnout form the UK...

One thing that I hadent anticipated was that MySpace really isnt as globally popular as I thought apprently its just really the US, Japan, and Australia.

I really enjoy this forum and plan on staying here regardless of wether I get a turnout or not! even without a turnout that doesnt mean that I'll stop promoting either. Who ever set this site up has a great thing going here! and I think more people should know about it! (unless any one has an objection??) So i'm gonna continue pushing the site!!

Cheers!!

I guess we just mistrust Microsoft too much here in Europa Smile Smile

There was actually a news articel in the news today here in Holland about how we Dutch people don't care much about blog sites and such favoring tools like instant messengers. Though hives (dutch myspace kinda thing) is popular.

Glad there are no hard feelingsSmile

toyd1drifter,
thanks for the link....always good to have access to extra info.
Personally, myspace is relatively new to me in the UK. Its growing really fast tho'. I've not got into it coz the pages aren't organised very well.
Everything looks crammed in....a bit like info overload.....just my personal opinion of course
Its very popular with the youth in the UK....which leaves me TOTALLY outta it Blush Huh Huh

hehehe, language barriers still existSmile

Its real interesting to see how the need always exist for local board to co-exist with more global boards. We've added the regional sections to facilitate this learning from rx7club mostly where this works fairly well.

Interesting though, croatia, greece, NL offcourse, and a few other countries really have adapted and are using the regional sections as they are ment, while other regions really use our board for europian things and discuss their local things on their own boards. (which is fine offcourse)

In the end, you can't expect to create a board that is to everyones liking or that meets all requirements for a local community (or global, just looking at certain structural difference between the type of users we generally get here, and the sort of people on, say club4ag). Just look at Japan with some of their crazy habbits, would a Japanese AE86 owner totally into "Bososoku" feel at home on our board where so many people are busy building track/drift cars and care little for such things?

Also, its fun to 'own' a community Smile Makes us feel special Hurray!
